HUBBARDSTON -- July 14, 2026, Hubbardston Board of Health reviews PFAS levels, beach samples, and flags Silver Leaf water compliance issues. At the July 14 meeting, Chair Gael Moncoeur reported that the Hubbardston House Apartments public water system showed PFAS levels of 7.28 nanograms per liter, below the state limit of 20 but flagged for trend monitoring, while Silver Leaf condominiums were cited for a lawn equipment shed within their 230-foot well protection zone and arsenic readings approaching 76 percent of the maximum contaminant level. Member Dianna Johnson warned residents to wash produce carefully amid a regional uptick in cyclosporiasis, describing it as "a diarrhea-type illness that can last upwards of 10 days." Comet Pond and Pine Crest Beach were both cleared for swimming. The board voted unanimously to reschedule its next meeting to August 4, 2026, and welcomed a new member identified only as Steve, who is pending formal swearing-in and abstained from all votes.
