Conservation Commission approves railroad vegetation management determination.

Conservation Commission · Meeting of June 9, 2026

HUBBARDSTON — Conservation Commission grants vegetation management determination for railroad project. The board unanimously approved a positive determination of applicability for Thomas Lewis's railroad right-of-way vegetation control plan under the Wetlands Protection Act, allowing the railroad to proceed with its state-mandated vegetation management program. In other business, Chair Bryan LaRochelle directed Pinecrest representatives to file a Request for Determination of Applicability before cutting trees on the beach to reduce algae growth, and member Anthony Coppola announced his resignation.

The commission also flagged ongoing unpermitted work at 20 Kruse Road, deciding to give the landowner one more opportunity to seek permits before issuing a formal enforcement order.
