Board of Assessors approves May-June abatements and motor vehicle warrant

HUBBARDSTON — Board of Assessors approves routine documents and addresses resident payment delay. Chair John K Prentiss and members Albert Afonso and Jeffrey A Young unanimously approved minutes and signed May-June motor vehicle excise abatements, one lien, Motor Vehicle Excise Warrant and Commitment 2026-03, and an administrative property-card abatement. Resident Ed Blanchard of 56 Barre Rd, who had threatened small claims court over unpaid funds following an Appellate Tax Board ruling, was assured by Assessor's Clerk Leeanne Moses that the Treasurer/Collector had discovered the processing error and would pay him on the next Accounts Payable cycle, Monday June 15.

Blanchard agreed to delay legal action pending receipt of the payment.
