Board of Assessors corrects motor vehicle abatement process, approves stamp protocol.

HUBBARDSTON — Board of Assessors approves signature stamp for motor vehicle abatement certificates. Chair John K Prentiss, Albert Afonso, and Jeffrey A Young unanimously authorized Assessor's Clerk Leeanne Moses to create and use the stamp following discovery by the Department of Local Services that the board had been improperly handling abatements. The board signed 10 motor vehicle abatements and corresponding certificates, along with 3 lien releases and 6 new liens, in compliance with corrected procedures.
The next meeting is set for August 19, 2026.
