MRPC approves CEDS and appoints Munroe to rural panel

HUBBARDSTON — Regional planning commission backs revised economic roadmap and committee appointments. The Montachusett Regional Planning Commission unanimously adopted the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy for 2024 to 2029 after removing terms including "race" and "electric" to comply with federal Executive Order 14222. Kristofer Munroe, Planning Board Chair of Hubbardston, was unanimously appointed to the Massachusetts Rural Policy Advisory Commission and as primary representative to the Wachusett Mountain Advisory Committee.
The MRPC received a 447,000 dollar grant from the Executive Office of Energy and Environment Affairs for a two-year Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness project and is awaiting decision on a second regional flood solutions grant totaling 248,330 dollars in fiscal 2027.
