Library Trustees proceed with Ufema bid for lower level renovation.
Library Trustees · Meeting of June 26, 2026
Hubbardston Library Trustees voted 4-0 to proceed with contractor Ufema for a lower level renovation project. Chair Morgan Brinker, Vice Chair Connie Strittmatter, Clerk Krista Fischelis Goguen, and Member Christine Kisiel reviewed three bids ranging from $49,150 to $57,000 during a June 26 meeting; Ufema's proposal was selected conditional on town Facilities Director review. A Community Preservation Act grant covers $40,710 of project costs, with electrical work and other items requiring library funds.
Library Director Chris Barbera will check with the Massachusetts Historical Commission on window trim requirements and clarify permit and utility billing procedures with the town. Trustees also moved to address staffing shortages by inviting four write-in candidates to fill vacancies.
