Library Trustees Approve Policies, Clear Way for Renovation Planning

Library Trustees · Meeting of April 2, 2026

Hubbardston Library Trustees approved comprehensive library policies and authorized the director to seek contractor quotes for lower-level renovation. Chair Morgan Brinker led the board in approving partial policies unanimously (5-0-0), with remaining policies to be reviewed in May. Library Director Chris Barbera was authorized to contact independent contractors for itemized renovation quotes.

Trustees allocated $4,585.21 from existing funds for mold abatement, comprising $290.21 from the Clark fund and $4,295 from the Church fund, with possible additional support from state sources if needed. The Massachusetts Historical Commission approved the renovation scope on March 9, clearing the way forward.
