Hubbardston Council on Aging Approves Treasurer's Report, Plans Valentine's Pie Fundraiser

HUBBARDSTON — January 14, 2026 — Hubbardston Council on Aging approves financial reports and sets Valentine's Day pie breakfast fundraiser. The board, meeting January 14 without Director Claudia Provenzel, accepted a treasurer's report showing balances of $2,254.10 in supplies, $1,274.63 in services, $6,979.62 in the gift account, $9,339.67 in the formula grant, and $1,843.93 in an art grant — but noted the town's own finance office has not yet provided reconciled figures due to an ongoing municipal bookkeeping backlog. The Friends of the Hubbardston Senior Center announced a "Pie for Breakfast" event on February 14, 9 to 11:30 a.m., with $10 admission tickets and a raffle basket valued at over $150 including a Salem Cross Inn gift certificate; organizers said ticket sales have already covered costs. The board also confirmed a weekly soup program continues January 20 and discussed a prospective St. Patrick's Day potato bar. The next meeting is February 18 at 4 p.m.
