Council on Aging · Meeting of August 19, 2026

Hubbardston's Council on Aging reviewed competing roof and awning bids for the Senior Center but took no vote on a contractor. Director Claudia Provencal presented a $22,318.50 awning estimate and three roof bids, $36,580 from Radco, $51,775 from Pro Structures, and a disputed figure from Global Roofing, and disclosed a family connection to Radco's ownership. Treasurer's duties were covered by Amy Delaroche in Ken Horvath's absence, who reported reconciled balances of $14,904.62 in the Gift Account, $14,456.77 in the Formula Grant account, and $1,276.93 in the Art Grant account.

Provencal said "everybody says the town should be paying for this" but that funding remains uncertain, and the board referred the roofing decision to Facilities Manager Travis before any vote. The board also confirmed a September 16 cookout with performer Dennis Cormier and a September 10 Brookfield cookout trip hosted by Donnie Berthiaume and Peter Durant.
