HUBBARDSTON — The Hubbardston Council on Aging agreed to let the Lions Club host this year's Horribles Parade at the Senior Center, ending Chair Florence Pervier's roughly 50-year run organizing the event. Director Claudia Provencal said she already told Lions Club volunteer Cindy she could use the building, describing plans for cobwebbed doorways and a controlled candy station, and the board voiced unanimous support. Separately, the board approved its September 9 minutes with name and date corrections on a motion by Patricia Lamoureux.
Members reported a September yard sale netted $4,500 after a $550 dumpster fee, though figures for a second fundraiser tied to a volunteer called Bev were cited inconsistently as both "$27,000" and "$2,700" without resolution. Provencal also reported ongoing account-number confusion after the town switched accounting systems, saying deposited yard sale funds currently sit "in our donation account." The board began planning a November 11 veterans' pancake breakfast and confirmed a Friends-funded, $20-per-plate Thanksgiving dinner for November 15.
