Select Board OKs new clerks, Winchendon accounting deal
Select Board · Meeting of September 3, 2026
Hubbardston Select Board creates two clerk jobs and outsources accounting to Winchendon. The board unanimously approved job descriptions for a part-time Assessing Department Clerk and a full-time Land Use and Board of Health Clerk, covering gaps left by clerk Leanne's upcoming maternity leave and a previously eliminated board of health role. Members also accepted an intermunicipal agreement with the town of Winchendon for accounting services starting October 1 at $3,500 a month, which Interim Town Administrator Tim Bragan said is about $8,000 less than the town had appropriated.
The board reviewed an updated town administrator salary range of $110,000 to $130,000, set after town meeting rejected a requested $150,000 ceiling, and renewed the town's bond anticipation notes for another year. A preservation committee member, Mike Stahl, told the board the First Meeting House needs an engineering assessment, citing fire, hurricane, and water damage to its structure. "It's always nice to see communities that can work together," Chair Kathryn V.
Young said of the Winchendon deal.
