Select Board · Meeting of October 13, 2026

HUBBARDSTON — The Hubbardston Select Board voted unanimously to begin contract negotiations with Matthew Boiteau for town administrator, passing over fellow finalist James Ryan. Board members cited Boiteau's military service and his negotiating experience at the post office as factors in the decision. Member Kris E.

Pareago said she would personally call Boiteau rather than text or email him: "I won't text you and I won't email you." The board said an aide identified only as Tim would help draft a contract proposal ahead of an in-person meeting, a change from a prior search process members described as "piecemeal." Both finalists told the board they could give as little as two weeks' notice to current employers. The board's next meeting, including planned executive session business on the contract, is set for Monday, October 19, at 6:30 p.m.
