Conservation · Meeting of October 6, 2026

Hubbardston's Conservation Commission continued a Lombard Road home-construction hearing to Nov. 10 after neighbors said they missed the meeting's start time, and set an Oct. 13 site visit. Members voted 3-0, with Chair Bryan LaRochelle recused, for a negative determination clearing pasture work by Jarod Hardacker, who said the state "said we'd have no jurisdiction" when he sought DEP review. The board closed a septic certificate of compliance for 43 Birches Road and accepted a $1,000 donation from consultant Tom Christopher, who thanked commissioners Chris Pirner and Rich Clapham for driving him home after a May meeting.

Christopher wrote he was "confident the Commission will put this donation to good use." Members also agreed to ask the Select Board to extend a proposed camping-bylaw permit window from 14 to 30 days before the Oct. 27 Special Town Meeting.
