Hubbardston Zoning Board of Appeals hears two variance applications, schedules decisions for late January. The board unanimously closed two public hearings: one on Louise Nally's request for relief from a 30-foot setback requirement to build a garage at 158 Old Westminster Rd, proposing 13.3 feet; the other on Darryl Gagne's request for relief from a 200-foot frontage requirement for a new home at 43 Pitcherville Rd, proposing 100 feet. The board voted unanimously to have written decisions drafted on both applications.
Chair William Homans, newly elected to lead the board, indicated that Gagne had created his own hardship by failing to address insufficient frontage before purchasing the property.
