Planning Board Directs Aquifer Overlay Map Review

HUBBARDSTON — Planning Board directs aquifer overlay map overhaul. Consultant Bill Murray reported that the aquifer protection overlay maps do not align with state watershed protection standards and recommended splitting the district into two zones to better address direct water supplies versus tributary areas. Member Francois Steiger requested a formal report on updated mapping and impacts; Chair Kristofer Munroe committed to coordinating with Town Planner Alec Wade on funding the comprehensive review.
The board also began work on 90 zoning bylaw codification questions due by end of May for Town Meeting recodification in spring 2027.
