Planning Board confirms Attorney General approval of four bylaws

Planning Board · Meeting of January 7, 2026

HUBBARDSTON — All four Hubbardston bylaws from town meeting have received Attorney General approval, completing a zoning modernization cycle. Chair Kristofer Munroe and Town Planner Alec Wade reported the Battery Energy Storage Systems bylaw allows energy storage in all districts except the town center, with tiers two and three permitted by special permit in certain zones; the Accessory Dwelling Unit bylaw required only minor modifications. The Board reviewed four ongoing projects including zoning recodification and a sandpit overlay study, while the commercial district revision project is under grant-amendment review.

Planner Wade is expanding to 15 hours weekly to address staffing transitions.
