Hubbardston Cultural Council Approves $330 Budget, Sets November Grant Vote Dates

HUBBARDSTON — October 7, 2025 — Hubbardston Cultural Council approves $330 administrative budget and schedules November grant voting sessions. The council voted unanimously at its October 7 meeting to set aside $330 in administrative funds for fiscal year 2026, leaving $7,717.22 available for community grant awards after the state's $6,700 annual allocation and fiscal year 2025 carryover funds were tallied. Treasurer's report highlighted two accounting anomalies — a cross-year mural payment and a duplicate $250 check to the Athol Historical Society for its "Uniquely Quabbin" publication — both resolved without corrective action on advice of state cultural council staff. Parsons Recreation, which received a $2,833 Summer Social grant but invoiced only $1,411.50, was told the remaining balance would roll into the 2026 grant year rather than fund a separate event. Grant voting is scheduled for November 5, 11, and 20, with the application deadline set for October 16 and acceptance letters due by January 16.
