HUBBARDSTON — The Hubbardston Cultural Council outlined a $9,904 pool for its 2027 grant cycle, boosted by three canceled 2026 events rolling their funding forward. Chair Jonathan Brinker and Treasurer Connie Strittmatter, the only two members present, reviewed 38 Field Day survey responses, eight outstanding 2026 grant payments, and a Hubbardston Historical Society reimbursement dispute: the group's invoice totaled $899 against its $700 award. "I cannot change that number," Strittmatter said, citing fixed state grant terms.

The council's state allocation held at $6,800, flat for several years aside from a $100 bump, with 5 percent ($340) earmarked for administrative costs. Brinker said he will likely abstain from voting on First Meeting House Committee applications in the 2027 cycle, which opens for applications October 15 and must finish internal voting by mid-December. No votes were taken.
