Cemetery Commission schedules gate locks, plans fence repairs

Cemetery Commission · Meeting of May 11, 2026

HUBBARDSTON — Cemetery Commission restricts vehicle traffic at Greenwood Cemetery over safety concerns. Chair Paul Sweeney announced installation of locks on the cast iron gate at Greenwood Cemetery due to safety concerns from deterioration; pedestrian access remains available through a separate gate. The commission unanimously approved previous meeting minutes and reviewed burial activity, with two burials planned for June in Rural Glen for Charles Woodward and Eunice Green.

Commission members will oversee fascia repairs at Brookside, corner posts at Evergreen to prevent vehicle damage to gravesites, and fencing repairs at Forest Hill with Lions Club assistance.
